Fleet Captain’s Log – August 5, 2014 (Day 5)

August 7, 2014

This morning was dedicated to outlet shopping at Clinton Crossing with free transportation provided by the Cedar Island Shuttle. Our driver dropped us off and picked us up 2 hours later at our designated spot. Camille & Marcia got bargains galore!

There was an intense fog on the water this morning so Northstar delayed their departure. Once the fog lifted, they left us for Milford Landing where they will spend one night before heading back to HYC. They leave for Tanglewood on Friday for a fun-filled few days.

Blast & Leeds the Way stayed at Cedar Island for an extra night. Captain Mark will hopefully return to Leeds the Way sometime tomorrow. Blast will depart for Mattituck in the morning and Leeds the Way will follow tomorrow.

It was a good and not so good day. The weather was sunny and hot. Lots of time to relax and enjoy. After lunch, Blast went to relax at the pool with good books. I (the lonely Admiral) went for a bike ride and then met Blast at the pool. When I arrived at the pool, I learned that Ernie had jumped into the pool with his cell phone in his pocket. We are trying to dry it out with some rice.

Then my cell phone dropped into the water when I was taking it out of my bike’s saddle bag. What a day of bad luck!

The crew of Blast and the lonely Admiral of Leeds the Way went into Westbrook via van service to The Log Cabin; a local family restaurant with huge portions of good food. We all brought home goody bags including Ernie who could not finish all the food provided.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better luck day once Captain Mark returns.
